Arlo & Anna Appearances
19 July 1999Anna Belyaev and I will be hanging around at the Tribune Tower a couple times in the next month. Tomorrow night at 1:00 am we'll be the musical guests on WGN radio's Steve and Johnnie show, to talk with critic Mark Guarino about A Day at Honey Creek. And on August 14th we've been invited to play on the outdoor stage at the Rock the River festival. We're looking forward to both events!
A-Commerce
19 July 1999I'm happy to say that I've begun the hopefully not-too-long process of adding secure, online ordering to Planet Arlo. The banks and credit card companies aren't quite sure what to make of me, but with a little luck I'll soon be able to offer all the items in my boutique for your immediate gratification. Dust off the plastic and support your favorite independent musician!
New Lyrics Online
7 July 1999If you hadn't noticed, my Song of the Month page has been languishing in neglect for several months. I still haven't gotten around to uploading new tunes, but I got halfway there this month by posting lyrics to two new songs. I'll be performing them both at my shows this weekend. Until then, you'll just have to imagine what they sound like!
CD Label Caveat
7 July 1999Those of you who bought a copy of A Day at Honey Creek, the children's album I recorded with Anna Belyaev, might start noticing a thuk-thuk-thuk sound as the disc spins in your CD players. Don't be alarmed! Take out the disc and press the label down, if it's starting to curl up around the edges. Hey, I'm taking the concept of DIY music (do-it-yourself) to new heights!
Arlo Out-of-doors
20 June 1999If a picture tells a thousand words, I'm hoping three pictures will make up for all the site updates I haven't made in the last couple months. These snapshots are from a neighborhood festival I played at yesterday, the Rogers Park Artists of the Wall Festival. Thanks to Rob Gillis of Waterdog Records for getting me in the door, and to Bill Paige for running the show.
