All the songs for my next album are recorded and mixed, and I'll be assembling them into a final master this week. Meanwhile, I've posted a second preview track on my songs page. Enjoy!

Phase 2
8 November 2004

My strategy of dividing the current album project into two halves seems to be working well. The band and I started phase 2 a couple weeks after finishing the first half, and today we reached one of the last milestones: all of the recording is completed. I'll be in the studio mixing this week, and before Thanksgiving I'll be able to post a second preview track. Hooray!

All right, folks, we're just two weeks away from what both sides agree is "the most important election of our lifetime," and I'm not holding anything back in my effort to end this four-year political nightmare that goes by the letter W. In fact, it's time for the ultimate sacrifice: to channel web traffic away from this site to my political blog, arlorant.com. Go get it, Google!

Half done!

I'm delighted to report that everything is going according to plan, and after a series of recording and mixing sessions earlier this month, the upcoming electric album is half done. To celebrate, I'm reviving the long-dormant Song of the Month page on this website with an MP3 of one of the new recordings. Check it out!

Album update
3 June 2004

Slowly but steadily, the new and long-awaited electric album is moving along. I've started rehearsing with a drummer, and will be adding a bassist and lead guitarist soon. On the songwriting front, I'm happy to say I now have more songs than I need, and will be able to whittle down the selections after a few more rehearsals. Barring additional distractions (like my car and equipment theft from last month), we'll start recording by the end of July!
