Wilson-esque
First performed 1/27/95

I never know
If I should take it slow
Or forge straight ahead
With all the ideas floating around in my head, my head

Then you look at me
And ask me to sit long enough for a cup of tea
Or maybe some coffee or milk or juice
Or tell you my whole life story this afternoon

So I look at the watch on my wrist
And I flip through my little datebook
Then I look around once and then I say,
All right

I can't sit still
With all the obligations I must fulfill
When I'm on the run
I guess you could say that's how I have my fun

Then you say to me
You're sure those things will get done eventually
But for now, you're quite sure
That I should stay here with you just a few minutes more

So I look at the watch on my wrist
And I flip through my little datebook
Then I look around once and then I say,
All right

I say goodbye to you
I mention expectations I must pursue
And I, I can't say
Just where I'll be at the end of this day, this day

Then you try to fake a frown
And say you give up on trying to slow me down
But that you will leave on the light
If I should decide to come home to you tonight

So I look at the watch on my wrist
And I flip through my little datebook
Then I take a deep breath and then I say,
All right
